Professional Background
Kathleen earned her J.D. from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, Tennessee, graduating in the top 20% of her class. She was the Symposium Editor for the Belmont Law Review and received multiple Best Performance Awards in areas such as Legal Writing, Pre-trial Litigation, and Estate Planning.
Kathleen has practiced disability law for over a decade. She previously practiced as a workers' compensation attorney at one of the largest law firms in the country, representing thousands of injured workers to ensure they received the disability benefits they were owed.

Kathleen has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch for Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation, and Workers' Compensation Law in 2024. She was also selected for the Mid-South Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list from 2021 to 2023.
She is admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Appeals (CAVC). She is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent veterans before the VA and is a member of the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA), as well as Military Spouse JD Network (MSJDN).
Personal Life
Kathleen is from Nashville, Tennessee, but has lived in Oregon, California, Virginia, and now resides in Melbourne, Florida. She is an animal lover and enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with her family.

With a background spanning complex litigation, workers’ compensation, commercial appeals, and real estate law, she has supported attorneys and clients through every stage of the legal process — from drafting pleadings and discovery to preparing for trial and managing high-volume caseloads.

Before joining Altitude Veterans Law, Dee previously worked alongside Attorney Kathleen Lewis at a nationally recognized firm managing a high-volume case load, where they built a strong professional partnership grounded in efficiency, client service, and attention to detail. Their collaboration there set the foundation for the client-centered approach she brings to veterans and their families today.
A graduate of Georgia State University with a B.A. in Political Science and Legal Studies, Dee is committed to providing compassionate, responsive support to veterans as they navigate the VA disability process. Her combination of litigation knowledge, organizational skill, and dedication to service makes her an integral member of the Altitude Veterans Law team.

Outside of work, Dee is a proud mother of two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and appreciates the finer things in life.
